This is a long time coming. I had a different blog using a different platform and I struggled technically every time I wrote a blog post. I found a solution and I hope I can continue to improve my posts as the time passes.
I live in Minnesota and I live in an older neighborhood where the lots are larger than what you typically see today. The trees are mature and at varying stages of dying. I have planted many trees in the almost ten years that I have lived here. My yard consists of part woods and part wetland so this brings in a large variety of wildlife - deer, turkey, fox, muskrats and mink (rarely seen), variety of birds, snakes, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, mice and tons of bugs!! The gardening I do today is very different from what I was doing when I first moved in- I used to go for aesthetics and now I garden with a purpose - to diversify my yard to benefit wildlife.
If you are one of the lucky people who find joy in nature, then you will understand the joy I get every time I see something new and exciting. If you aren't quite there yet, I hope that I can help you see the world through a different lens. If you start to pay attention, you will notice something new everyday - from the simplicity of different bugs in your path to the migration of birds, behavior of chipmunks and squirrels throughout the season, the smell in the air, color of the sky, sunrises, sunsets and the list goes on and on.
I want to share what I find interesting and see if I can inspire others to garden for wildlife!
I hope you continue to come back to visit! I am going to try to post as often as I can.
